Lounge Onyx is a new unique event taking place in London’s West End at Phoenix Arts Club, and featuring some of the most talented and sought after Black and brown cabaret performers in the United Kingdom. Inspired by the legendary The Cocoa Butter Club, this show aims to showcase of drag, pole dancing, poetry, burlesque, spoken word, circus performances, clowning and comedy.
Produced by previous Burlesque Idol winner, Onyx Fatale in 2020 who curated the show in order to bring visibility to black performer as well as creating a safe and nurturing spaces for them to share their talents in the way that they want to in order for them to be not only seen but celebrated.
The next show is on Wednesday 27th October 2021 7.30pm in celebration of Black History Month with confirmed guests Beau Jangles, Umami Monae, Mimi Sugapill, Montana Peeks, Mysti Vine and host Sadie Sinner.
How was this achieved? By having two sold out shows at it’s residency at The Phoenix Arts Club in West End where the show was given a 5* review stating that the show was “a collection of culture, glam, pride and power. Celebrating black cabaret is what this show is about and this show offers a line-up of award-winning performers alongside up-and-coming acts. Expect everything from a classic striptease to stand-up comedy to drag performances. Past guests have included Demi Noire, Jada Love, Scarlet Shambles, Shakona Fire, Cleopantha, Sadie Sinner, and many more.
