January is always the most challenging month for many – after the highs of the festive period and the hope of a good new year. For some, January is the bleakest and coldest time, and payday often can’t come soon enough. But let’s look at January another way; a more positive way: days are getting lighter, and spring and summer are getting closer. This brings us to the topic at hand today. We wanted to explore the places people are bound to flock to in summer – the best and most beautiful beach destinations of 2024!
Corfu
Corfu is a picturesque Greek island located in the Ionian Sea. It is widely known for its lush and vast green landscapes and many unspoiled beaches. One of the most famous beaches in Corfu is called Paleokastritsa, which boasts turquoise azure waters and pebbly shores. The beach is surrounded by olive groves and cypress trees, creating a tranquil atmosphere ideal for those seeking a truly peaceful escape.
In addition to its natural beauty, Paleokastritsa Beach offers sun loungers, parasols, high-end restaurants, and beach bars. Another famous beach in Corfu is Agios Gordios, located 17 kilometres south of Corfu town. This sandy beach is surrounded by stunning scenery, including rock formations and verdant greenery. Corfu comes high up on our list for its sheer beauty and amazing beaches, which are just a couple of hours away by plane!
Halkidiki
Halkidiki is a region in northern Greece that is famous for not only its Olives but also its three peninsulas – Cassandra, Sithonia, and Mount Athos – all of which offer stunning beaches. On the Sithonia peninsula, you can find Kavourotrypes Beach, a hidden gem with white sandy shores, clear emerald waters, and pine trees that stretch all the way to the coast. The beach’s secluded location and breathtaking scenery make it feel like a secret and serene paradise. If you’re looking for the best sunset in the area, we recommend checking out Sani Beach in Cassandra. This beach is home to a luxury resort, top-notch facilities, and plenty of water sports, making it one of the most popular beaches in Halkidiki.
Mallorca
Mallorca is the largest island in Spain’s Balearic Islands and boasts breathtaking beaches and coves. With its powdery sand and crystal-clear blue waters, Cala Millor is one of the island’s most popular beaches. The lively promenade with shops, restaurants, and bars adds to the beach’s vibrant atmosphere. You can indulge in exciting activities like paragliding, banana boat rides, and even an inflatable waterpark while you’re here.
Es Calo des Moro Beach, which is located in southern Mallorca, is one of the most stunning beaches in the area, too, but you’ll have to climb down some rocks to access it, so it may not be to everyone’s liking. Nonetheless, the white sand, Caribbean-blue water, and impressive rock formations make the journey worthwhile if you can!
Sanremo
Sanremo is a fascinating city in Liguria, Italy that combines the glamour of the Italian Riviera with a lively entertainment scene. With hundreds of dining options, live music events, and dramatic cycling festivals, San Remo has something for everyone and is a perfect choice for a Italian holiday. San Remo is situated between a bustling seafront and a historic centre set into the hillside, and it boasts an impressive number of attractions, including the famous Pista Ciclabile.
This coastal cycle and hiking route is entirely free from traffic and follows the pathway of an abandoned railway as it winds more than 12 miles along the coast to Imperia. Additionally, there are some incredible historical sights to see, including a remarkable 20th-century Russian Orthodox church and an atmospheric old town ready for exploring.
If you’re looking for relaxation, the city also features a beautiful sandy beachfront with restaurants and bars offering fantastic Italian cuisine and mouth-watering cocktails and soft drinks. If you venture out at night, you’ll be spoiled for a choice of high-end restaurants, bars and nightclubs.
If nightclubs aren’t your scene, you may very well enjoy the famed and exquisite Casino di Sanremo. We’re told by online casino experts that the Casinò di Sanremo is one of the best live casinos in Europe. Whether you spectate or partake in casino action, that’s all up to you; of course – Sanremo is well worth the visit for everything it offers for all types of people.
Cuba
Cuba is a captivating paradise and, believe it or not, is one of the world’s most affordable beach holiday destinations. The country boasts expansive stretches of beaches, such as Varadero, as well as secluded coves, like Cayo Coco. All of these breathtaking beaches have crystal-clear turquoise waters and pristine white sands. Cuba’s tropical climate provides year-round warmth, making it an ideal location for thrilling snorkelling and scuba adventures amidst vibrant coral reefs.
Beyond water sports, visitors to Cuba can also enjoy the lively music and dancing culture that infuses every corner of the island.
