HURGHADA, Egypt. A single hospitality group dominated the Egyptian categories at this year’s World Travel Awards Africa Gala Ceremony, with Rixos Hotels Egypt returning home with seven separate honours. The trophies were handed out on 28 August 2026 in Zanzibar, Tanzania, and together they map almost the entire spread of the brand’s Egyptian estate.
What stands out about the haul is its breadth. Rather than one flagship property carrying the group, recognition arrived across resorts, a heritage hotel, a family destination, an adults-only retreat, a luxury villa and even a water park. The awards touch the group’s operations in Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada and Alexandria, underlining how Rixos has built depth rather than relying on a single headline address.
A Portfolio Judged From Every Angle
Read as a set, the seven wins describe a business that has diversified its guest offer. The Red Sea coast is represented by beach and family resorts in Hurghada, the Sinai peninsula contributes an all-inclusive adults-only property and a premium villa concept in Sharm El Sheikh, and Alexandria adds a heritage classification that speaks to the group’s presence along the Mediterranean. A leisure attraction, the aqua park, rounds out a line-up that reaches well beyond conventional room-and-board hospitality.

Two of the categories point to a single Hurghada property, Rixos Premium Magawish Suites & Villas, which was named both the country’s leading beach resort and its leading resort overall. Rixos Premium Seagate also features twice, collecting the family resort title and the continental water park honour for its Aqua Park, a sign of how individual sites are being recognised across more than one dimension.
Leadership Response
Reflecting on the group’s showing, Mr. Erkan Yildirim, Managing Director of Rixos Hotels Egypt, said: “We are extremely proud to receive seven World Travel Awards. This recognition reflects the dedication of our teams and our continued commitment to delivering exceptional and memorable guest experiences. For Rixos Hotels Egypt, the seven titles cap a strong year and reinforce a portfolio strategy that now spans the Red Sea, Sinai and the Mediterranean coast.
