The LCD Soundsystem NYC residency returns this winter for its sixth consecutive year, with 12 shows spread across three weekends in November and December 2026, produced by Bowery Presents and split between two Queens and Brooklyn venues. According to Consequence, the run marks six unbroken years of this particular ritual, a fact that reframes what might otherwise look like a simple touring exercise into something closer to an institution.
The tradition began with the opening week of Brooklyn Steel in 2017, a detail that ties the residency’s origins to a venue’s birth rather than the band’s own scheduling convenience. That the two have grown up together gives the arrangement an unusual texture: not a band renting a room, but a kind of long-term cohabitation with the New York scene’s fabric.
LCD Soundsystem NYC Residency Dates and Venues
The 2026 run opens with four nights at Knockdown Center in Queens, from 19 to 22 November, before the band moves to Brooklyn Steel for four dates running 30 November to 3 December. A closing four-night stretch at Knockdown Center follows from 10 to 13 December. Each weekend block stands as its own pocket of the city’s winter calendar, and the shows will again feature a rotating selection of live openers alongside afterparties with DJ sets from special guests.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on 9 October.
The 100th Show and Its Charitable Gesture
The Brooklyn Steel portion carries a particular weight this time. The 30 November concert will be the 100th show of the residency overall, and James Murphy’s band is marking the occasion by donating 100 per cent of ticket sale proceeds from that night to a charity yet to be announced. It is the kind of gesture that works precisely because it is tied to a concrete number: a century of these shows, accumulated one winter at a time since 2017, gives the donation a logic that feels earned rather than performative.
There is something almost counter-intuitive about a band that once staged an elaborate farewell at Madison Square Garden in 2011 becoming so thoroughly identified with a recurring seasonal fixture. But the residency format suits LCD Soundsystem’s aesthetic logic: these are performances built on duration, accretion and the particular intimacy of a crowd that turns up night after night and knows what it is there for.
Beyond the Residency: Rome, Aspen and Al Doyle’s Solo Debut
After the residency wraps, the band will round out the year with dates on 30-31 December and 1 January at Belly Up in Aspen. Further ahead, LCD Soundsystem is set to open two August 2027 shows in Rome for Harry Styles, whose new LP, Kiss All the Time, Disco Occasionally, was described in the original announcement as having been heavily influenced by the band.
Meanwhile, guitarist Al Doyle has offered a preview of his forthcoming solo debut, Hollywood Saviour, with the release of ‘Hard Times in America’ via DFA Records. It is a useful reminder that the band’s extended orbit continues to generate music even as LCD Soundsystem’s own next album, their first since 2017, remains without a release date or official word on its status.
The 100th show on 30 November 2026 is the clearest marker on the calendar for now, and the charity announcement tied to it will add a further dimension when it comes.
