Shine Programme Employment Opportunities

Sound It Out Community Music
is a social development agency for the West Midlands utilising music as a mechanism to enable change.  In July 2009 the organisation received funding from the Department for Children, Schools and Families through the Youth Sector Development Fund to deliver Shine, a citywide programme for young people ages 13 – 19 on Friday and Saturday afternoons and evenings based in five communities of Birmingham.

The closing date for applications for ALL of the Shine opportunities listed below is midday Tuesday 1st September 2009
 
Shine Programme Officer (£21,000 p.a. fixed term until March 2011)
This full time position will be responsible for the day to day management of the Shine Programme across the city and will be based at Sound It Out offices in central Birmingham.
Interviews to be held on Monday 7th September.
 
Office and Finance Assistant (£17,000 p.a. until March 2011)
This full time post will support the Shine Programme and the Sound It Out Team in general administrative and financial tasks as required, including the coordination of funders reporting requirements.
Interviews to be held on Tuesday 8th September.

Shine Programme External Evaluator (£25,000 over 18 months)
This freelance contract will be to undertake indepth evaluation of the Shiner Programme and will include developing and monitoring appropriate systems and gathering, collating and evaluating appropriate data.
Interview date TBC.

5 x Part Time Shine Outreach Officers (£17,500 pro rata fixed term until March 2011 -22.5 hours per week)
5 Part Time Officers required, to be based in each of the five (5) local communities selected. Each Outreach Officer will be responsible for the management of their locally based music programme including recruitment and mentoring support of young people, programming, promotion, monitoring, reporting and overseeing musicians and other artists.
Interviews to be held over Thursday 10th and Friday 11th September.
